Equipment Overview
Available equipment includes laptops, calculators, webcams, headphones, cables, etc. A full list of equipment is included on our equipment page.
- Patrons are responsible for any damage or lost item(s). Rentals are free, however patrons can be charged if an item is missing or damaged.
- Equipment valued above 100$ will require an electronic signature from the patron for acknowledgement of responsibility in the case of a lost or damaged item.
- Holds placed on equipment expire in 24 hours.
Calculatorsare due back at the end of the session in which they are checked out.
- Holds placed on calculators expire in 24 hours.
- Should a calculator or any of its components be lost or damaged, including the cable or pouch, patrons are responsible for the replacement cost of the calculator and/or the lost/damaged pieces.
Some calculators will come with rechargeable batteries. If batteries fail, they may be exchanged at the library for new ones.
Laptopsare on available on a first-come, first-served basis and are available to currently enrolled students.
- A Student ID is required for checkout.
- Laptops are loaned one session at a time and must be returned by the last day of finals within that session according to the Academic Calendar.
- Only one laptop is allowed to be rented out to a student at a time.
- Patrons will be charged for damaged or lost accessories (chargers, bags, etc.) and will be charged for the full replacement of the device or the parts affected.
- Students are responsible for their data. Data will not be saved nor able to be retrieved once the laptop is returned. Please ensure any necessary data is stored elsewhere.
Students must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Students must follow the Fletcher Technical Community College Computing Resources Use Policy as stated in the Student Handbook
- Students must protect the device from theft and/or damage
- Students must adhere to all copyright laws
- Students must notify the library staff immediately in the event that any components are damaged and/or malfunction occurs
- Students must notify the library staff immediately if the device is lost or stolen
Laptops that are not returned by the due date provided at time of checkout are subject to being disabled by Information Technology.
In the event that a student is issued an incomplete for a course and needs additional time after the due date, the student must bring in the device to the Library for renewal. Verification of an incomplete grade must be met prior to renewal.
